Live Entertainment in the Napa Valley

Life in the Napa Valley isn’t all about swirling, smelling, tasting, and spitting. Sometimes we like to get out and engage the other senses, too, like listening to some great live music. Luckily for us – and our visitors – there’s an abundance of great venues for music, as well as comedy, theater, and other live performances. Check out the following:

The Uptown Theater – This classic Art Deco theater, built in 1937, is Napa’s premiere venue for live music and comedy, hosting some of the biggest names in entertainment – from Peter Frampton and Todd Rundgren to Dana Carvey and David Sedaris.

Silo’s – An intimate venue for lively jazz, rock, and blues every night of the week. Upcoming performers include jazz pianist Mike Greensill, David Correa and Tommy Hill Latin Guitar World Music, and Blue Collar Men (a tribute to Styx).

Downtown Joe’s – Here’s another great spot for live local music, karaoke nights, and DJ’d dance parties.

The Performing Arts Center at Lincoln Theater – This multi-disciplinary arts venue in Yountville presents live classical and world music, family-friendly theater, films, and other events.

Napa Valley College Performing Arts Center – With its brand new, state-of-the-art theater complex, this center presents full productions of musicals and plays.

Lucky Penny Community Arts Center – A terrific community theater that showcases local talent and trains students through its Napa Academy of Performing Arts.

Uva Trattoria Italiana – This popular local restaurant and hang-out presents nightly music and dancing featuring small jazz, pop, and rock groups.

Billco’s Billiards & Darts – Features live music on Thursdays.

If you’re Upvalley and don’t want to make the trek to Napa, you can find a lively music scene at Ana’s Cantina (Thursday night karaoke), the Calistoga Inn and Brewery (live music Wednesday through Sunday nights), Hydro Bar & Grill (live music on weekend nights), Pacifico Restaurante Mexicano (live mariachi music on Friday’s), and Susie’s (open mike night on Wednesdays).
